These Northern Lites Backcountry snowshoes are my most reliable transportation here at Rauhallinen Farm. With near five feet of snow in the yard and woods, there is no walking without them, other than the driveway. Pricey at $280 a pair, but the lightest snowshoes made and superb for backcountry use in photographing and winter camping. We have a snowshoe group in Ironwood that will meet weekly (Wednesday nights at 6:30 P.M.), beginning in January for planned evening walks (with headlamp) and post-walk drinks or meals at local establishments.
