Most of the trees in the Western U.P. have abandoned their leaves. By the end of this week, our temperatures are to plummet to lows in the 20's. Winter is around the corner and Thursday evening after work, I will start the wood boiler, for a seven month long fire. The U.S. weather service out of Marquette, has predicted this will be the second coldest winter in U.P. history since 1902, last year being the coldest. Both the pellet stove and the wood boiler will come to good use. After surviving last years deep freeze, I have acquired a very healthy respect for the fourth season.
