The passing of Lauren Bacall at age 89, brought back a childhood memory. My brother, mother, and myself, joined my father on a business trip to New York City in 1965 when I was 14. We stayed at the Waldorf Astoria and aside from the usual NYC tourist things (Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Times Square, etc. attended the Broadway play, Cactus Flower, in which Lauren Bacall stared onstage. The play was at the Royale Theatre on Broadway. The former lover and eventual wife of Humphrey Bogart was a wonderfully talented and beautiful woman to watch perform on stage.
