Many of the perennials at the farm are either at their peak, or otherwise on the wane, as Fall rapidly approaches in the U.P. We have had some 40 F nights and cool days. The various Asters are beginning to bloom and splash the roadsides with pink, lavender, and muted white with yellow centers. The apple trees in and bordering the back yard are dropping apples faster than I can load five gallon pails for deer feed. 50 gallons in one week.
