Was able to make it down into the Black River basin next to Rainbow Falls on Sunday. Required a climbing rope and cleats, due to ice and snow and the steep and rocky desecent. The Black, like other rivers in the Western U.P. is a torrent, due to the melting snow and intermittent rain. Back to another foot of snow tonight, which will add to the drama. Great opportunity for long exposures using an ND10 filter.
