Three weeks of sub-zero temps and not even to January yet. This old 1920 two story farmhouse is too much for my propane hot water heat (at least my budget is). Just purchased a Harman P43 Pellet Stove (43000 BTU's) that will be installed next week and two tons of wood pellets to start with. I will only use the propane when traveling, which is rare for now. Got rid of the external wood boiler as I did not want to be a slave to wood and spend my summers cutting, splitting, and stacking. Life in the Northwoods is more challenging in the Winter, but the beauty, solitude, and absence of those urban daily dramas are a good trade.
