A $2 bargain for still life work on Saturday
 ambling in the thrift
and antique shoppes
amongst other
seekers of the arcane or
temporally deposed .
Hanging on a nail
like a chronographic crucifix of sorts
Three hands held fast
in their respective positions
 sentries of that
moment gone.
I wonder
what, if any
significance in its isochronal
life ending just short
of 4:34?
An overzealous winding?
A tumble down a mine shaft?
Logging misfortune?
 A half drunken toss
at a spouse or fellow
tavern inhabitant
over a woman?
Yet another vagary of time.
